Save Lives, Clean your Hands – BRAC video

May 7, 2013: The BRAC WASH programme in Bangladesh has produced a new handwashing promotion video. It shows slides of handwashing promotion sessions for different groups (children, adolescent girls, women, men), as well as for schools, village WASH committees and mosques (imams).
The video was released on 5 May to coincide with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) annual global campaign  to promote better hand hygiene in health care. See Video (Source: DietVorst)

Jan 14, 2013: Many of you are aware that the current Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) will be ending in 2015. Over the past two years, the United Nations and its partners have started a process to develop a post-2015 development plan. The Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing (PPPHW) encourages you to take a few simple steps in January and February to advocate for handwashing and hygiene, along with broader WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) goals to be included in this post-2015 plan.

Alive & Thrive – Reducing stunting through improved feeding and handwashing

Handwashing with soap before handling a child’s food is critical to child health and nutrition. Alive & Thrive, the Institute of Public Health Nutrition, and the Department of Public Health Engineering launched a campaign in Bangladesh linking handwashing and adequate, appropriate, and safe complementary feeding.
Materials include a summary of the handwashing initiative, an advocacy brief, TV spot, poster, job aid, and reminder sticker.

Unicef to help govt in lowering anaemia

Guwahati, Nov. 11, 2012: Unicef has agreed to help the state in its proposed mission to lower the high level of anaemia among adolescent girls in the state. According to National Family Health Survey report, Assam, along with Andhra Pradesh, has the highest percentage of anaemia in women between 15 and 49.

Small infections cost India Rs 69,000 crore a year

Mumbai, Oct. 16, 2012: India loses Rs 69,000 crore a year—more than twice the sum of Rs 34,488 crore it set aside for the country's health budget in 2012—to small infections.
